Wow! I Can’t Believe It’s Been Over a Year!

Every now and then, you hit a milestone that makes you stop, take a breath, and reflect. For me, one of those moments happened recently when I realized it had been over a year since our second book was released. Time moves quickly when you’re doing meaningful work, but this anniversary deserves a pause and a little gratitude.

Our first book, A Life of Merit and Purpose, is now out of circulation. While it’s no longer being printed or distributed publicly, we still have copies available in our office for those who are interested. That book represented an important chapter in our journey, one focused on values, intention, and living a life that truly matters. It laid the groundwork for much of what followed.

Our second book, which Libby and I wrote together, is titled:
Finishing Strong: An Estate Planning Journey.

This book was different. It was more personal, more practical, and more reflective of the real conversations we have with families every day. It wasn’t written to impress. It was written to help. To guide. To encourage people to think differently about aging, planning, protecting what they’ve built, and finishing life with clarity and confidence.

What has truly amazed me is the response.

Over the past year, Finishing Strong has been picked up by Amazon, Books-A-Million, and Bookshop.org. That matters (not because of ego or recognition) but because of what it represents. It tells me that the message is resonating. People are willing to pull hard-earned money out of their pockets, go online or walk into a bookstore, and intentionally purchase this book.

That is not something I take lightly.

In a world overflowing with free content, blogs, videos, and opinions, choosing to buy a book is a deliberate act. It signals trust. It signals interest. And most importantly, it signals that people are searching for guidance as they approach the later chapters of life. They want to understand how to preserve what they’ve built, protect their families, simplify complexity, and make sure their legacy reflects their values.

To me, the success of this book isn’t measured in royalties, it’s measured in conversations. It’s measured in families who come in better prepared, asking better questions, and thinking more intentionally about their future. It’s measured in people who say, “This helped me finally take action,” or “This gave me clarity,” or “This helped us start a conversation we had been avoiding.”

That’s why we wrote it.

Libby and I believe deeply that estate planning is not just about documents or dollars. It’s about people. It’s about dignity. It’s about removing uncertainty and replacing it with preparation. Finishing Strong was written to meet families where they are and to help them move forward with confidence.

If you have not yet received a copy of the book, here is my promise to you: set an appointment with our team, and we will give you a complimentary copy. No pressure. No obligation. Just a conversation and a resource that I believe can genuinely add value to your life and your planning.

One year in, I am grateful… not just for the success of the book, but for the reminder that thoughtful planning still matters, that people care about finishing strong, and that the message is being heard.

Thank you for reading, for trusting, and for being part of this journey.
